The Dome Tour

Climbing the almost 300 steps leading up to the dome, you will be able to take a closer look at the architecture of the basilica’s roofs. At the top, enjoy an outstanding reward: the 360° panoramic view on Paris is unique!

Opening hours and access

The dome is open every day. Sometimes, it can be closed for maintenance or due to weather conditions. Check this website the day before your visit.

OPENING HOURS

The tour is open from 10am to 7pm. 

  • Please note that the last access to the dome is at 6.30pm to give you enough time to enjoy the tour.
  • These opening hours can vary according to season, or can be modified due to weather conditions, or for maintenance. 
  • Every day, the dome is closed for our hostess’ mid-day break. We apologize for the possible additional waiting time and thank you in advance for your understanding.

ACCESS

The tour starts outside: after the security checkpoint, descend into the moat immediatly to your left. The ticket office is located downstairs. In case of queuing, do not hesitate to come back later after visiting the interior of the basilica. We control the entrance flow to ensure you a smooth visit.

A FEW TIPS

The only way to visit the dome is to climb a narrow 280-step staircase. Consequently, the tour is not recommended for people with mobility issues (elderly, pregnant women, etc.) or fearing narrow spaces. There is no elevator access!

Below are the contribution amounts for the dome visit, depending on age and number of visitors. More information is available on site at the ticket office.

GROUPS

No prior reservation is needed: entrance tickets are bought at the ticket office direclty. 
The contribution amount is €6 per person for groups of 20 or more.
