The Dome Tour

Climb the nearly 300 steps leading up to the dome to get a closer look at the architecture of the basilica’s roofs. Once you reach the top, you’ll be rewarded with a unique 360-degree panoramic view of Paris and its monuments.

Opening hours and access

Visits to the dome of the basilica are open daily.
Due to maintenance work or weather conditions, we sometimes close this visit. Please check this website the day before your visit.

OPENING HOURS

Our opening hours: 10:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. (last admission at 8 p.m.)

  • Last admission is at 8:00 p.m. to give you time to enjoy the tour.
  • These hours vary depending on the season and may be modified depending on weather conditions (or for regular maintenance by our maintenance teams).
  • Every day, the dome tour is closed at midday for our hostess’s break. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Where should I enter?

The entrance to the dome is located outside, after the security check. Go down into the moat immediately to your left. At the bottom of the stairs, you will find the dome ticket office 20 meters to your right (ticket window and machine).

If there is a line, feel free to come back after visiting the interior of the basilica (we regulate entry to ensure a peaceful visit).

Please note: there are no restrooms.

A few precautions before getting started

The only way to reach the dome is to climb 280 steps via a narrow staircase.
This visit is therefore not recommended for people with mobility issues (elderly people, pregnant women, very young children, etc.) or those who are afraid of confined spaces.
PLEASE NOTE: there is no elevator access!
