Would you like to pray for a loved one, for a deceased person or for peace?
In gratitude, for a special intention, for a living or deceased loved one, there are three ways to light a candle at the basilica.
1. On site during your visit. In front of each chapel you can light a small candle or a novena (large candle that burns for 9 days) and make your offering using the trunks and terminals placed near the chapels.
2. Online on our website: you can tell us your prayer intention and how many novena candles you would like. A Benedictine sister from the Sacré-Cœur de Montmartre will then place them for you in the basilica in front of the silver statue of the Sacred Heart.
During the month of November, the Church invites us to offer special prayers for our deceased loved ones. At your request, a sister from the basilica can light a candlein front of the statue of the Sacred Heartfor the deceased person you wish to entrust to the Lord’s mercy.
3. By post. Write to a Benedictine sister of the Sacré-Coeur de Montmartre and add your offering (10 euros for the novena) and a sister will light a candle for you in front of the silver statue of the Sacred Heart. Please send your offering by post to: Basilique du Sacré-Cœur (Bureau d’accueil bougie) – 35, rue du Chevalier de la Barre – 75018 Paris
