The Basilica of the Sacré-Cœur is not a parish church and weddings are not celebrated there.
However, engaged and newly-wed couples may participate in a night of adoration (staying at the guesthouse) to confide their love to the Sacred Heart of Jesus in the silence and peace of nighttime.

Baptisms

The Basilica of the Sacré-Cœur is not a parish church and children are not baptised there.
For local residents, the nearest parish church is St Pierre de Montmartre.

However, adults may prepare for baptism at the Basilica. This time of preparation is known as “catechumenate”. It lasts for around two years, after which catechumens receive the three sacraments of initiation to the Christian life (Baptism, Confirmation, Holy Communion) on Easter night. The preparation is made with the priests of the Basilica and the Benedictine Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Montmartre.
