History of
Benedictines of the Sacré-Coeur of Montmartre
1872
Adèle Garnier, a governess in our
remote provincial country house, reads an article about the plan to build the
Basilica of Sacré-Cœur of Montmartre and hears a message from God : " that is
where I want you to be ! ". 
1898
Mission accomplished. The religious community founded for the Basilica of Sacré-Cœur of Montmartre is recognized canonically by the Church. The first community settles down at Sacré-Cœur and then leaves for England in 1901. Subsequently they settle in Belgium and then in France.
1961-1977
With the encouragement of Monseigneur Charles, our congregation returns to the Basilica of Sacré-Cœur, where we live out our mission of prayer and welcome.
1970-1978
Building of the priory of Bethany
and foundation of the priories of Notre-Dame (Our Lady) of Marienthal and of
Notre-Dame of Laghet. After 1973, Father Marie-Joseph Le Guillou o.p. espouses
the values of our congregation and helps the general chapter to structure our
constitution theologically and spiritually. They are approved by Rome in 1983.
1984-1987
Return to Montmartre, foundation
of the priory of Saint Benedict and then of Saint Scholastica, the mother house
and novice house. Foundation of the priory of Notre-Dame of Montligeon. 
1992-1995
Foundation of the priory of Notre-Dame (our Lady) of Victoires at Paris and of the priory of Marie-Joseph at the sanctuary of the " Curé d'Ars ".


1995
Cardinal Lustiger, archbishop of Paris, asks our congregation to take part in the spiritual and material activities of the Basilica of Sacré-Cœur. Our congregation thus brings to reality the religious ideal of Mother Marie de Saint-Pierre.


1998
Foundation of a community at Sainte-Baume
in Provence.
